Cozy. It took a while for the temperature to turn cool. I pulled out the sweatshirts and jeans. I nursed a stomach upset with a cup of turmeric ginger tea. I took naps with the quilt over me.
Pedicures and foot massages. For six. Baby blue is my color. Looking at my toes makes me happy.Birthdays of loved ones. One turned seven, one turned sixty-nine, one celebrated ninety-five. The nonagenarian had a Zoom meeting with her children and grandchildren.
Mad Hatter Day. Outgrabe recital. Lan composed songs from poems of Alice in Wonderland and Alice Through the Looking Glass. Rebecca belted out the lyrics with the music written for her voice. I read the stories for the first time and immersed myself in the magic.
Wine tour with Liên. It was mother-daughter time. We giggled. Took selfies. Indulged in traditional and whimsical wines a few Texas country wineries had to offer.
Dick Nichols Park. A walk through a park with Drakeson, Milli, and Lan.
Pickleball. Tom picked up the sport with enthusiasm. When he said his return was not gentleman-like, I’d say all of his returns are not gentleman-like.
Sealy. Where we usually celebrate late October birthdays. This year’s birthday dinner was roasted squash with ginger sauce and corned beef hatch. Delicious.
Fireplace. George made a fire and invited me to sit there while sipping a drink and studying.
Halloween. Happy Halloween card from Milli. The children went trick-or-treating with their parents in their Alice in Wonderland costumes. My honey stayed home with me. I napped while he gave out candies. He made me tea. We snuggled under the quilt and watched a movie.
