A Fall Day in Great Falls

The sun is hiding
The rain drops are tiny like dust
Keeping the path moist
The breeze blows softly
The dry leaves depart their branches
One by one
They slowly fall
In the autumn air
Adding depth to the soil
In the serenity of time
With yellow leaves underfoot
The deer walk side by side
Across the path
Into the thickness of trees
Along the river bank
A splendid landscape
Is painted here
Great Falls is the place
Where water drops from high
Forming waterfalls
On rocky terrain
River-wide
I will come again
When the weather changes
The water doesn’t cease
The river keeps flowing
No matter what clothing
Nature wraps around it
It is a beauty
Not to be forgotten
