Wake Up Fall

Wake Up Fall

I go to sleep summer,
I wake up fall.
The weather turns,
But life marches on.
We go through cycles,
But they don’t repeat.
The roads are passed once,
Not to be redone.
Grasp the moments now,
Before they are gone.
For all shall be passed,
Bliss and misfortunes.
I’m glad for today,
And all the days past.
The layers of age,
Each a different tone,
Weave for me a cloth,
Rich and beautiful,
Uniquely made.
I wear it proudly,
It shapes what I am,
And prepares me for,
My morrow journey.
