A Christmas gift
Like celebrating our anniversary
In a log cabin with a hot tub
For just you and me
So much to see and do
In a charming town
Good food and good music abound
The Play That Goes Wrong went right for us
In good weather we walked around
The wildflowers lured our eyes to see
The hummingbirds kept us company
The pasture cows lay down to rest
The Longhorn cattle showed off their prize
The bats were gone at Old Tunnel Park
But the trails were open the birds were free
The singer strummed his guitar and sang his songs
And told the tales of song writers
Who came to sing when time was old
And to write songs to warm the souls
We relaxed at the Japanese Garden of Peace
A gift given for a friendship so rare and fine
The Zion Lutheran church stood tall
And the Vereins Kirche retained its charm
As we explored the old town’s streets
It was a lovely Christmas in April indeed
